Infant Car Safety Seat

I am installing my new SnugRide Infant Car Seat by Graco... The owner's manual shows how to use the Car seat with and without the base... both have areas to thread the car's seat belt through them...

Maybe I am having a "blonde" moment here... but why would anyone want to use it without the base?

I mean if they give you the base, it seems logical to just strap it in and leave it there since the carrier part can be released and baby taken out without disturbing him.

Does anyone know why there is both options? Is one way better than the other? Does it make any difference? Does anyone own this type of carseat from Graco and what was your experience?

Most infant seats can be used without the base. This means you can use your infant seat in any car regardless of if you have the base or not. Actually bases are just there for convienence since it is easier to just click the carseat in than to re-install it everytime.

what do you think of the peg perego viaggio infant car seat?

I'm stuck on buying a carseat. I don't know which one is best i heard the peg perego viaggio sip infant car seat maybe to upright and hard on babies tummy..what's your feedback on this? What's your take on this infant carrier? What do you think is the best infant carseat to name a few name brands i have been looking at chicco, maxi cosi and graco.

I havent had my son yet but we got the Chicco key fit 30 and with playing around with it and looking at reviews my husband and I really like it. I have friends with babies and I've noticed the Graco are lighter but kind of flimsy and Peg perego is very nice (more expensive and a little heavier than the Chicco). I have the Uppa Baby stroller so my only option for a carseat that is compatible is Graco, Chicco and Peg perego.

Who makes a double side-by-side stroller which will accomodate a Graco infant car seat?

I can only find one graco side-by-side, and it does not accept a car seat - help!
I will have one infant and a toddler. Also, I have heard moms are more satisfied with side-by-side than front-back - what do you think?

I don't think any side-by-side strollers will accommodate any infant seat. I had a tandem stroller by Graco and my Graco infant car seat locked in (for security) very nicely.

Are all evenflo infant car seats the cozy carrier?

I have an evenflo infant car seat that I got in 2007 and it was in a travel system. I've tried looking it up on the evenflo website, but the travel systems don't say if it is a cozy carrier, but they look just like the infant car seats that don't come with a stroller. I ask this because I am interested in a double stroller that fits a evenflo cozy carry and I don't want to get it if I have the wrong kind of car seat.

The 2007 models are the same as the new ones. They will work

I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with our 4th baby. We are not finding out the sex but we are planning on buying a car seat this week. We gave our infant seat from our youngest to my sister who had a baby right before I found out that I was pregnant.

I want an infant car seat that you can adjust the straps from the front. Does anyone have any suggestions the infant seat we had before we had to tighten the straps from the back and I hated it.
